Am I the only one who checks the weather forecast daily for about 2 weeks before going away on holiday, as though I have some control over the outcome?!
We rented a Motor-Home for 3 nights in July, and booked a campsite in The Lake District. The forecast was reporting the driest, and warmest July on record…..then it proceeded to rain non stop for the 3 days we were away!!!
Claustrophobia and rain aside however, we had a great time. Mille, Sam, and Harriet were super excited to be living in a ‘house on wheels’, and we enjoyed a visit to Peter Rabbit World, some paddle-boarding, and plenty of fish n chips and Ice Cream!!
Ambleside, the nearest town to our campsite was lovely, as well as Bowness. If you’re after a walking or relaxing holiday, it’s an area well worth exploring…. just don’t pick 3 days of rain like I did!
